Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov Wednesday urged to speed up Free Trade Area (FTA) negotiations with Vietnam.
The negotiations on a free trade area between Ukraine and the European Union will be intensified after the election to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at a hot line in "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine" newspaper, the Cabinet’s press service informs.
The agreement on a free trade area (FTA) with the CIS will take effect on September 23, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (Minekonomiky) is initiating Ukraine’s accession to the WTO Government Procurement Agreement (GPA). This will provide Ukrainian manufacturers simplified access to WTO procurement tenders involving 43 countries, including 27 EU members and the European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland whose legislation is very close to that of the European Union).

Turkey and Ukraine signed a protocol on May 4 to deepen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. The protocol was signed by Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan and his Ukrainian counterpart Sergei Tigipko after the eighth term meeting of the Turkey-Ukraine Trade and Economic Cooperation Committee, in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.

Ukraine and the European Union are to initial the Association Agreement on March 30. The negotiation process on the document took five years.
Government Commissioner for Ukraine's European Integration Valeriy Piatnytsky has said that the association agreement between Ukraine and the EU in terms of creating a deep and comprehensive free trade area (FTA) is larger and deeper than a similar agreement with the CIS countries.
