Thailand will launch the second free trade area (FTA) negotiations with Sri Lanka, in a bid to strengthen the economic partnership between the two countries, according to the Department of Trade Negotiations.
Officials from Thailand are scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on Monday to start the third round of talks after negotiations were suspended in 2018, said K.J. Weerasinghe, Sri Lanka's Chief Negotiator of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
Thailand is the sixth ASEAN partner to finalise negotiations for a PCA with the EU following Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia.
